California's central coast is full of beautiful, picturesque spots; let ODR show you the hidden gems. From Big Sur to San Francisco, along the coast or inland, you can explore California's nature every weekend. Big Basin, Big Sur, Jade Cove, California Missions, Sykes Hot Springs, Point Reyes, Garland Ranch, Santa Cruz Redwoods, these are just a few destinations ODR's has to offer. Trips start as low as $10.

Jade Cove in Big Sur Day Trip

Join your Outdoor Recreation on a treasure hunt of a lifetime that starts with a drive to Big Sur. Enjoy one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world with towering cliffs and amazing surf views you've only seen in photos. We will go down to Willow Creek for exploration of a hidden gem. We will search for jade and other treasures. $25 per person, minimum of 4.

California Missions Tour

Come join your Presidio of Monterey Outdoor Recreation once a month retracing the steps back in time. Outdoor Recreation will help you discover California's adobe past. From their humble, thatch-roofed beginnings to the stately adobes we see today, the Missions represent a dynamic chapter of California's past. By the time the last mission was built in 1823, the Golden State had grown from an untamed wilderness to a thriving agricultural frontier on the verge of American statehood. The 21 missions that comprise California's Historic Mission Trail are all located on or near Highway 101, which roughly traces El Camino Real (The Royal Road) named in honor of the Spanish monarchy, which financed the expeditions into California in the quest for empire.

Sykes Hot Springs Backpacking Hike

Sykes Hot Springs is one of Outdoor Recreation's favorite places to take first time backpackers who are reasonably fit. The destination has some nice hot springs and a trout filled stream. The trip is long enough that people have a sense they have accomplished something, but short enough that it's not overwhelming for most.

Point Reyes Hike

Point Reyes National Seashore has more natural wonders than you could ever hope to absorb in one day, so you might as well camp out with Outdoor Recreation.
